Dr. Bojidar Yanev

Biography

Bojidar Yanev is an Adjunct Professor at NYU Tandon School of Engineering. He has an extensive background in civil engineering, focusing on bridge management and design. Yanev has served as a consulting engineer and educator for over 30 years in New York and California. He held notable positions including Director of the Office of Research & Development at NYC DOT. His expertise is recognized through leadership roles, such as chairing the American Society of Civil Engineers Committee on Bridge Management, and co-founding the Transportation Research Board Sub-Committee on Structural Security Safety. Yanev has participated in multiple technical committee panels related to bridge maintenance, seismic research, and engineering health monitoring. He has authored a significant number of publications including over 60 articles and several chapters in well-regarded engineering texts. His work particularly emphasizes the importance of bridge inspection and evaluation methodologies.
