Biography

Bonnie M. Scott is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at Dell Medical School, University of Texas at Austin. She is a clinical neuropsychologist specializing in the assessment of adults with age-related neurocognitive disorders and neuropsychiatric conditions. Bonnie earned her Ph.D. in Clinical and Health Psychology from the University of Florida, where she focused on clinical translational science, neuropsychology, neurorehabilitation, and clinical neuroscience. She completed her internship in clinical psychology with an emphasis on clinical neuropsychology at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System and her postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at Dell Medical School. Her research interests span cognitive, emotional, and motivational changes associated with healthy aging and dementia. As the director of the Motivational Neuroscience Lab, her work aims to advance the understanding of the mechanisms underlying motivated, goal-directed behaviors to inform therapeutic targets for enhancing patient care. Bonnie has a special interest in improving the early detection and treatment of neurocognitive disorders and addressing health disparities through community outreach and cross-cultural validation of psychometric tools.
