Biography

Bonnie Sierlecki studies how norms and ideals are constituted, reshaped, reinforced, and challenged within discourse in world popular American sport. She has served as an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences for the past eight years at Pennsylvania State University, teaching courses such as Justice in Sport, Communication and Civilization, Argument and Controversy, Introduction to Media Studies, Gender, Culture, and Communication, as well as Qualitative Research Methods in Communication. Additionally, Bonnie directed the Edgewood College Honors Program's Common Reading Program and has been involved in graduate coursework from 2006 to 2012, where she taught courses such as CAS 100A, CAS 175, CAS 201, and CAS 214W, and partnered with Paterno fellows and Schreyer Honors students. Bonnie has also served as a graduate assistant fellow at the Center for Democratic Deliberation and is a founding member of the International Association for Communication in Sport (IACS).
