Biography

Lee Boon Keng is an Associate Professor at the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University. With over 15 years of experience in the financial industry, he has significantly contributed to enhancing the skill levels of banking and finance graduates. He has been instrumental in implementing platform-based learning in the curriculum, enabling students to learn and analyze financial markets using industry-standard platforms like Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters. Graduates from his programs are expected to be desk-ready upon finishing their studies. Dr. Lee returned to academia in 2014 after serving as Managing Director and Head of the Investment Solutions Group at Bank Julius Baer in Singapore, where he led a team of 50 specialists in research, investment advisory, and portfolio management. Prior to this, he was the Chief Investment Strategist at UBS Wealth Management and a market strategist at DBS Bank. In 2016, he was appointed Director of the Centre of Excellence in International Trading at NTU, where he focuses on developing talent in commodity trading and conducting research on international trading. He also leads the Centre for RMB Internationalization Studies, aiming to deepen understanding of the RMB as an international currency.
