Biography

Boone Goodgame, M.D. is an Associate Professor and Program Director of the Hematology & Medical Oncology Fellowship at the Dell Medical School. He is also the medical director of oncology at Ascension Seton and a courtesy associate professor in the Department of Internal Medicine. Goodgame graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. He completed his residency and fellowship at Barnes Jewish Hospital, affiliated with Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, in 2008. Following his fellowship, he continued his faculty career at Washington University, focusing on translational research in lung and genitourinary cancers, including kidney, bladder, and prostate cancers. In 2010, he returned to Austin to be part of the development of the Dell Medical School. He is responsible for leading clinical hematology and oncology teaching faculty at Dell Medical School as well as at Dell Seton Medical Center, where he also chairs the Ascension Seton Cancer Committee. Dr. Goodgame is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Medical Oncology and Hematology and is actively involved in patient care and clinical research in these fields, with a specific interest in treatment and clinical research related to lung cancer and genitourinary cancers. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Outside of his professional responsibilities, he enjoys outdoor activities in Austin with his wife, children, and golden retriever.
