Bora Pulatsu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carleton University. He specializes in advanced computational modeling and its applications in structural analysis, particularly focusing on historical masonry structures and quasi-brittle construction materials. With a strong academic background, Boras holds a B.S. from Middle East Technical University, an M.S. from the University of Minho and Polytechnic University of Catalonia, and a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His research interests include seismic assessment of modern and historic masonry structures, thermo-mechanical coupling in concrete masonry, and soil-structure interaction phenomena. He applies data-driven modeling strategies to predict the long- and short-term performance of structural members subjected to exceptional loads. Additionally, Bora engages in testing and simulation of sustainable building materials and structures. Beyond his research, he teaches various courses related to structural assessment and computational modeling, contributing to the education of future engineers.
