Biography

Boris H. J. M. Brummans is a professor in the Department of Communication at the Université de Montréal, Canada. He received his PhD from Texas A&M University in 2004. His research interests include agency, Buddhism, communication theory, conflict management, dialogue, ethnography, mindful organizing, organizational communication, process philosophy, and qualitative inquiry. He has contributed chapters to edited volumes and published articles in various peer-reviewed journals such as Academy Management Review, Communication Monographs, Communication Theory, and Human Relations. His notable works include co-editing the volume 'Agency Organizing,' awarded the 2018 Outstanding Edited Book Award by the National Communication Association. He served as Associate Editor for Management Communication Quarterly from 2015 to 2019 and Chair of the International Communication Association’s Organizational Communication Division from 2022 to 2024.
