Biography

Borzou Rostami is an Associate Professor and the CPA Chair in Business Analytics at the Alberta School of Business, University of Alberta. He also serves as the Director of the AI Centre for Decision Analytics (AI4DA) and the Academic Director of the Master of Management Analytics (MMA) program. He holds a PhD in Information Technology/Operations Research from the Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy. Prior to joining the University of Alberta, he was an Assistant Professor at Wilfrid Laurier University and a Postdoctoral Researcher at Polytechnique Montréal and TU Dortmund in Germany. His research focuses on modeling and solving large-scale decision-making problems under uncertainty by integrating optimization techniques with advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence methods. His work is driven by real-world applications in supply chain management, retail, healthcare, and transportation and logistics.
