Professor Dr. Boualem Khouider

Biography

Boualem Khouider is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Victoria. He holds a PhD from the University of Montreal. His research focuses on a variety of topics within applied mathematics, including climate modeling, fluid dynamics, numerical analysis, and stochastic models. Khouider has made significant contributions to the understanding of tropical convection and convectively coupled equatorial waves. His work often involves developing and analyzing numerical methods for partial differential equations (PDEs) and creating cumulus parametrizations to enhance climate models. He is actively involved in using scientific computing to study tropical weather patterns, communicating his findings through various publications and presentations.
