Biography

Boudewijn Haverkort is the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Twente, a position he has held since October 2024. He has an extensive academic background, previously serving as Dean of the Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences from January 2019 to August 2024, and as a full professor in Design Analysis Communication Systems at the University of Twente from 2003 to 2018. His research interests lie in the design and analysis of cyber-physical and computer communication systems, focusing particularly on security and safety-related infrastructures, smart grids, energy storage, wearable computing, and energy-efficient data centers. Haverkort has held prominent roles in national and international research projects, including serving as chairman of the Commit2Data program until the end of 2024. He has authored over 200 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, significantly contributing to the modeling and evaluation of system performance. Haverkort has guided numerous graduate students and has been involved in both teaching and research management throughout his career.
