Professor Lou’s research primarily lies at the intersection of economics, artificial intelligence (AI), innovation, and entrepreneurship. He is extremely passionate about studying emerging technology-enabled phenomena in business and society, with a focus on areas such as AI, big data analytics, digital platforms, FinTech, and healthcare. He explores the new waves of digitization and technological innovation, examining a wide spectrum of industry sectors while collaborating with leading analytics companies to track trends in technology and labor innovation. By linking macro patterns to micro activities, Professor Lou employs a variety of interdisciplinary methodologies, including bioinformatics, econometrics, game-theoretical modeling, randomized field experiments, machine learning, and network analysis.
