Biography

Brad DeLong is a Professor of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley, and a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He is known for his expertise in economic history, macroeconomics, and finance. DeLong received his B.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Harvard University in 1982 and 1987, respectively. He joined UC Berkeley as an associate professor in 1993 and became a full professor in 1997. He has also served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy at the U.S. Treasury from 1993 to 1995, where he played a significant role in crafting macroeconomic policies and reforms during the Clinton Administration, including the 1993 budget and trade agreements. Additionally, he has held positions at Harvard University and Boston University, and has lectured at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
