Dr. Brad Sottile

Biography

Brad Sottile is an Associate Teaching Professor at Penn State University, where he specializes in Aerospace Engineering and Computer Science. He has been actively involved in engineering education, focusing on leadership, astrodynamics, evolutionary computation, and computational science. Sottile obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering in 2011 and later received a Master of Science in the same field in 2013 from Pennsylvania State University. He continued his education with a Graduate Certificate in Engineering Leadership Innovation Management in 2020, followed by a second Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 2021. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctor of Engineering in Engineering, expected to complete in 2024. Sottile has contributed to various significant research projects aimed at enhancing the educational experience, including programs focused on effective public policy training for engineering students and the micro-credentialing of professional ethics. He has been recognized with the Lawrence J. Perez Memorial Student Advocate Award for his service. His research and teaching efforts synergize modern techniques to prepare students for challenges in engineering fields, with a notable interest in integrating engineering ethics and public policy into the curriculum.
