Dr. Bradford Bell

Biography

Bradford S. Bell is the William J. Conaty Professor at the ILR School, specializing in Strategic Human Resources and serving as Director of the Center for Advanced Human Resource Studies. He earned his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Maryland at College Park and both his M.A. and Ph.D. in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Michigan State University. He teaches courses in Human Resource Management, Training and Development, and Work Groups and Teams for both graduate and undergraduate students. In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Bell has extensive experience in management and organization development, having worked as a consultant at First USA Bank/Banc and for various private and public firms. He is a fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the American Psychological Association. His research interests focus on training and development, team effectiveness, and virtual work, with publications in notable journals including the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, and the Journal of Management. Dr. Bell regularly presents his research at prominent conferences and has received the Early Career Achievement Award from the HR Division of the Academy of Management, where he is also an editor for Personnel Psychology.
