Dr. Bradley Bryan

Biography

Bradley Bryan joined the Faculty of Law at the University of Victoria in 2017, specializing in taxation law and postcolonial critical race theory. His expertise includes taxation law, Indigenous taxation, Indigenous corporate structures, and legal theories engaging postcolonial perspectives. Professor Bryan has practiced tax law at Woodward Company Lawyers LLP, advising Indigenous governments on tax, financing, and corporate structuring matters. He teaches and researches contemporary business tax law while critically exploring the intersection of colonial economic legal orders and Indigenous legal practices. Holding degrees from the University of British Columbia, McGill University, the University of Victoria, and the University of California, Berkeley, his notable publications include collaborative works on Indigenous business structures and taxation. His research aims to demystify Indigenous fiscal relations, providing crucial insights into the legal frameworks that govern them.
