Biography

Dr. Bradley Mathers is a Senior Research Fellow in the Medicine & Health faculty at the Kirby Institute, UNSW. He is a lecturer in the Public Health Interventions Research Group and has a strong background in medicine, focusing on international social development. His research has concentrated on program development across South East Asia, Iran, Mongolia, and Papua New Guinea. Recently, Dr. Mathers has focused on the global epidemiology of injecting drug use and HIV-related harms. Previously, he was based at the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre at UNSW and served as an advisor to UNAIDS on epidemiology, monitoring, and evaluation of services for key populations. Dr. Mathers joined the Kirby Institute in October 2011 and currently works within the Public Health Interventions Research Group and the Justice Health Program.
