Biography

Brae Anne McArthur is an Assistant Professor (Teaching) in the Department of Psychology at the University of Calgary and Director of the University of Calgary Psychology Clinic. She earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Applied Developmental Emphasis from the University of Guelph in 2014. Her internship was completed at Alberta Children’s Hospital specializing in Clinical Child and Pediatric Psychology. Dr. McArthur's research investigates individual and family-level risk and resiliency factors influencing child and youth mental health. She employs positive psychology principles to assess how young individuals can develop psychological strengths, enhance wellness, and build resilience. Current projects include evaluating treatment outcomes for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth seeking mental health services and broader community-based interventions aimed at supporting child development and mental health.
