Biography

Brandi Lenz is an Instructional Assistant Professor and the Undergraduate Program Director in the Department of Geophysics at Texas A&M University. With a focus on Earth science education, she has built her career around the study of natural hazards, subsurface geophysics, and disaster mitigation. Her recent research explores slope stability and marine geohazards, utilizing reflection seismic data collected offshore Oregon, USA to enhance understanding in these areas. Lenz holds a Ph.D. in Earth Science from Ohio State University, where she also completed her Master's and Bachelor's degrees with research distinction. In recognition of her teaching excellence, she was awarded the Distinguished Graduate Teaching Award by the School of Earth Sciences at Ohio State University in 2021.
