Dr. Brandon Garrett

Biography

Brandon L. Garrett is a leading scholar in the areas of criminal justice outcomes, evidence, constitutional rights, and forensic science. He currently holds the position of David W. Ichel Distinguished Professor at Duke Law School. His distinguished career began with a J.D. from Columbia University in 2001, and he has continuously focused on improving criminal justice outcomes through research and teaching. Garrett is the author of six books, including 'Autopsy Crime Lab: Exposing Flaws Forensics' (University of California Press, 2021) and 'End Rope: Killing Death Penalty Revive Criminal Justice' (Harvard University Press, 2017). His research covers a variety of topics including forensic science, habeas corpus, and corporate crime. Throughout his career, Garrett has been dedicated to enhancing the integrity of the criminal justice system and providing insights into the systemic issues that lead to wrongful convictions. He has published extensively in academic journals and has collaborated with various institutions to promote reforms in the criminal justice field.
