Dr. Brandon Jones

Biography

Brandon Jones is a full-time faculty member in the Department of Classical Studies at Boston University, where he serves as the Managing Editor of Arion, an award-winning international journal in the humanities and classics. He has been actively engaged in academic work for four years, focusing on reading, editing, and designing journals that cater to an interesting readership. His teaching philosophy integrates learning and imagination, allowing students to delve into classical literature and history. His research interests primarily revolve around Greek and Roman literature, history, and culture from ancient times CE. Notably, he participates in the International Cassius Dio Network and has published work related to this multifaceted author. Jones is currently working on a book project titled 'Greek Education, Roman Status: Studies of Paideia in Latin Prose,' which examines the educational foundations of prominent Latin-speaking elites, including Quintilian and Tacitus. A Massachusetts native, he has spent time learning and teaching in various locations including Washington, Rome, and Mississippi, cultivating a diverse perspective on classical studies.
