Biography

Brandon Marshall is the Royce Family Professor of Teaching Excellence in Epidemiology at Brown University. He is also the Founding Director of the People, Place & Health Collective (PPHC), which aims to improve health outcomes for drug-using populations through innovative research and community engagement. He earned his PhD in Epidemiology from the School of Population and Public Health and has completed postdoctoral training at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. His research primarily focuses on substance use epidemiology, harm reduction strategies, and the social and structural determinants of health among drug users. Marshall has published over 300 peer-reviewed articles and has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Early Career Award from the Society for Epidemiologic Research. He serves as Principal Investigator on several NIH-funded projects exploring topics such as drug-related mortality, opioid overdoses, and HIV prevention among high-risk populations.
