Biography

Dr. Brendan Andrade is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, and a Psychologist Clinician-Scientist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). His research focuses on understanding the factors that contribute to and maintain disruptive behavior in childhood, particularly in relation to clinic and community-based interventions for disruptive and aggressive behavior. Dr. Andrade has been funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the American Psychological Foundation, among others. His work emphasizes the importance of evidence-based group and individualized treatments for children experiencing disruptive behavior and associated mental health challenges. He has numerous publications examining the assessment and treatment of these behaviors, and is pursuing innovative research aimed at identifying psychosocial treatments that effectively meet the emotional and behavioral needs of these children and their parents. Dr. Andrade’s initiatives include analyzing social, cognitive, and neuro-cognitive correlates of aggressive behavior, as well as assessing predictors of treatment outcomes for children with disruptive behavior disorders.
