Biography

Brendan Harris is a Departmental Lecturer in Philosophical Theology and Tutor in Theology at Oriel College, University of Oxford. Originally from Lancaster in North-West England, he studied Philosophy and Theology at Oxford (Oriel College) before completing his Masters in Christian Theology at Durham University and earning his PhD from Emory University in the USA. Prior to his current role, he served as a Departmental Lecturer in Patristics at the University of Oxford and as a Tutor in Theology at Christ Church. His research primarily focuses on patristic (Early Christian) theology and philosophy, with a secondary interest in modern appropriations of patristic thought, particularly the recent 'analytic theology' movement. He teaches a variety of topics within historical, systematic, and philosophical theology, as well as philosophy of religion.
