Dr. Brendan Haug

Biography

Brendan Haug is an Associate Professor in the Department of Classical Studies at the University of Michigan. He is also the Archivist for the Papyrology Collection. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington in 2004 and pursued advanced studies at the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned his Master’s and Ph.D. in 2005 and 2012, respectively. Haug's research focuses on papyrology and classical studies, emphasizing critical examinations of ancient texts and their contexts. His work includes analyzing historical manuscripts and exploring the cultural implications of papyrological findings. Haug contributes to academic literature and engages with the university community through teaching and departmental initiatives. He is actively involved in projects that aim to preserve and promote knowledge of classical literature and languages through research and education.
