Biography

Brendan Keith obtained a Ph.D. in Computational Science, Engineering, and Mathematics from the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. He is currently an Assistant Professor at Brown University in the Department of Applied Mathematics. Prior to his appointment at Brown, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. His research interests involve using principles of probability and optimization to develop numerical methods for data-driven mathematical models. He has co-authored a new optimization-based technique to uncover hidden equations governing black hole motion from gravitational waveform data, contributing significantly to the field. He is also a member of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) and the U.S. Association for Computational Mechanics (USACM).
