Brendan McMorran holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours and a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. His research interests focus on the roles of red blood cells and platelets in human diseases, particularly in the context of malaria and chronic conditions. McMorran has a strong background in discovery science and is engaged in collaborative projects with Indigenous Australian communities, investigating genetic causes of chronic kidney disease. He supervises research students and offers opportunities for both undergraduate and postgraduate students in immunology, parasitology, and hematology.
