Biography

Brendan Mulcahy is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Penn Medicine and Medical Director of the PreHospital Program at Lancaster General Hospital. He started his career in public safety at age 18 as a volunteer firefighter and EMT in his hometown of St. Marys, Pennsylvania. He earned his Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Duquesne University and completed his medical education at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following this, he pursued additional training through an emergency medicine residency at Allegheny General Hospital, where he was Chief Resident, and completed fellowship training in EMS at the same institution. Brendan has actively contributed to the EMS community for over 14 years, holding positions such as Operational Supervisor at Ross/West View EMS and currently serving as Medical Director for Manheim Township Ambulance Association. In addition to his work in EMS, he serves as a senior medical officer in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, with a deployment to Poland in 2021. His professional interests include Rescue-Based Medicine, Tactical Medicine, and EMS Education.
