Biography

Brendan designed, developed, and implemented a variety of leadership assessment tools to provide solutions for clients, with particular emphasis on drawing creative talents from present leaders. He founded Basil Consultants, a boutique consultancy that provides talent assessment, leadership development, and organization development consulting. Throughout his career, Brendan has served in various talent management and talent acquisition roles at United Airlines and as senior director of psychology and product research at the global consulting firm Heidrick & Struggles, where he designed improved leadership assessment products. His areas of expertise include executive high-volume assessment, HR analytics, leadership development, and organizational creativity. Brendan has designed and deployed 360-degree feedback systems, assessment centers, simulations, and executive assessments for organizations across public, private, and not-for-profit sectors in industries such as technology, financial services, transportation, logistics, utilities, consumer packaged goods, retail, and telecommunications. He has supported leaders and teams in organizations ranging from small businesses and start-ups to large multinational corporations across various countries worldwide. Brendan has also served as an adjunct faculty member at universities, where he designed courses in organizational psychology, statistics, and creativity. He provides pro bono consulting for Chicago area arts organizations, including the Lawyers Creative Arts (formerly Arts & Business Council Chicago).
