Biography

Brent W. Ambrose is a Professor of Real Estate at the Smeal College of Business, Pennsylvania State University, where he also serves as the Program Director of the Ph.D. program and the Borrelli Institute for Real Estate Studies. He has held faculty positions at the University of Kentucky and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Dr. Ambrose has also been a Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School and worked as a Visiting Economist with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. He has published extensively, with over 75 refereed articles in major finance and economics journals, generating significant citations in economic research. His expertise lies in Real Estate Finance, Corporate Finance, and Fixed Income Security Analysis, with specific research interests in Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), mortgage default and foreclosure issues, and consumer credit contracts. He has served on the advisory board of the Real Estate Research Institute and was Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics from 2015 to 2020. Dr. Ambrose has received multiple awards for his contributions to real estate academia, including the George Bloom Award from the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association.
