Biography

Brent Page completed a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at the University of British Columbia and a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry from the University of Toronto. He was a Canadian Institutes of Health Research postdoctoral fellow, and performed his postdoctoral studies at Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. Currently an Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia's Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, he leads a research group focused on medicinal chemistry and chemical biology. His lab is dedicated to developing small molecule inhibitors for disease-relevant targets, with a specific emphasis on anti-cancer drug discovery. The medicinal chemistry program aims to identify potent, selective inhibitors of newly discovered, difficult-to-target proteins that play important roles in cancer pathologies. The research employs state-of-the-art chemical biology techniques to guide structure-activity relationship studies, optimizing compounds that interact with biological targets and enabling the use of these compounds to better understand the roles of target proteins in disease models.
