Biography

Brent B. Ward, DDS, MD is a Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Michigan. He serves as the Chalmers J. Lyons Professor and Section Head within the Department of Surgery at the University of Michigan Hospitals. Dr. Ward received his Bachelor degree from Brigham Young University and his dental degree from the University of Southern California, followed by a medical degree and postgraduate training at the University of Michigan, joining the faculty in 2003. He is a member of the multidisciplinary Head and Neck Oncology Program at the Rogel Cancer Center, where he is also the Program Director of the Oral/Head Neck Oncology Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship. Dr. Ward is recognized as a professional leader in several national and international organizations, having served as the past President of the American Academy of Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons and as a member of the Committee on Education and Training of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has extensive experience in diagnosing and treating adult oral and maxillofacial conditions, specializing in jaw and facial reconstruction for congenital defects and trauma, as well as head and neck cancer reconstruction and microvascular reconstructive surgery.
