Professor Dr. Brent Winston

Biography

Brent Warren Winston is a Professor at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, specializing in Critical Care Medicine. His research focuses on metabolomics in human diseases, particularly in the areas of sepsis and lung injury, and he has a history of examining gene regulation related to acute and chronic lung conditions. Dr. Winston has participated in numerous clinical studies related to sepsis and has established a Critical Care Tissue Bank to facilitate translational research on critical care issues within the ICU. His contributions to the field include a rich background in both basic and translational science, with an emphasis on understanding the biochemical pathways involved in critical conditions affecting patients.
