Dr. Brett Beaulieu Jones

Biography

Brett Beaulieu-Jones is an Assistant Professor in the Medicine Section of Biomedical Data Science at the University of Chicago. He specializes in biomedical informatics and machine learning in healthcare, utilizing electronic health records and real-world clinical data to improve care delivery and clinical decision-making. His research focuses on interpretable clinical AI and foundational models for electronic health records, developing methods to ensure the responsible and reproducible use of clinical data. He is a recipient of the National Institutes of Health Pathway Independence Award from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke and has served on the editorial board of Nature Communications Medicine. Beaulieu-Jones earned his PhD from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and completed postdoctoral training before serving as an instructor in biomedical informatics at Harvard Medical School. He is a founding board member of the Association for Health Learning Inference, where he has previously held the positions of chair and vice-chair. He joined the University of Chicago in 2022 and continues to contribute significantly to his field.
