Dr. Brett Beaulieu Jones

Biography

Brett Beaulieu-Jones is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Chicago, specializing in biomedical informatics and machine learning in healthcare. He utilizes electronic health records and real-world clinical data to improve care delivery and clinical decision-making. His research primarily focuses on interpretable clinical artificial intelligence and foundation models of electronic health records, aiming to ensure the responsible and reproducible use of clinical data. Dr. Beaulieu-Jones is a recipient of the National Institutes of Health Pathway Independence Award and has also served on the editorial board of Nature Communications Medicine. He earned his PhD from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and completed his postdoctoral training before serving as an instructor in biomedical informatics at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Beaulieu-Jones is a founding board member of the Association for Health Learning and Inference, having previously held the positions of chair and vice-chair. He joined the University of Chicago in 2022.
