Biography

Dr. Brian Blew is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Medicine. He completed his medical doctorate at the University of Toronto in 1998 and subsequently participated in a Urology residency at the University of Ottawa, finishing in 2003. Dr. Blew further advanced his expertise through an Endourology MIS Fellowship at the University of Toronto in 2005. His academic and clinical practice focuses on various aspects of urology, especially in the surgical management of kidney stones, laparoscopic techniques, robotic surgery, and renal transplantation. He is actively involved in undergraduate education in urology and holds the position of Director of Undergraduate Education in his department. His contributions to the field of endourology are recognized through his role as Treasurer of the Canadian Endourology Group. Through his work, Dr. Blew remains committed to improving patient outcomes and advancing surgical techniques in urological care.
