Biography

Brian Bouldrey is an author and Associate Professor in the Department of English at Northwestern University. His recent works include 'Good Bed' (ReQueered Books, 2023) and 'Good Pornographer' (University of Wisconsin Press, 2026). He has written nonfiction books such as 'Honorable Bandit: A Walk Across Corsica' (University of Wisconsin Press, 2007) and 'Monster: Adventures in American Machismo' (Council Oak Books). Bouldrey has also published several novels, including 'Genius of Desire' (Ballantine, 1993), 'Love, the Magician' (Harrington Park Press, 2005), and 'Boom Economy: Or, Scenes from Clerical Life' (University of Wisconsin Press, 2003). He has received numerous awards including fellowships from Yaddo, the Eastern Frontier Society, and Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts. He teaches courses in fiction and creative nonfiction writing at Northwestern and serves as an artist-in-residence for the South 85 Journal during the 2025-26 school year.
