Biography

Dr. Clyne practices emergency medicine at Rhode Island Hospital and Miriam Hospital. He serves as the Vice Chair of Education in the Department of Emergency Medicine and is the founder of the Medical Education research fellowship. After graduating from Brown Medical School, he completed his residency training in emergency medicine at the University of Maryland/Shock Trauma Center, where he was the chief resident. At Brown, he has held numerous educational roles, including director of medical student education and residency program director in emergency medicine, where he taught hundreds of medical students and residents, earning national recognition for his teaching excellence. Dr. Clyne has also been involved in the AMS career advising program and the AMS admissions committee and currently serves on the educational faculty development steering committee. He is the Chair of the national AAMC Careers in Medicine Advisory Committee, with scholarship reflecting his extensive clinical and administrative experience in medical education, student career advising, and physician leadership development.
