Dr. Brian Czito

Biography

Brian Gary Czito is a Professor of Radiation Oncology at the Duke Cancer Institute, which he joined in 2001. He specializes in gastrointestinal malignancies and has focused his research on treatment integration of novel systemic agents and radiation therapy for various types of cancers, including esophageal, gastric, hepatobiliary, pancreatic, colorectal, and anal malignancies. His work also includes leading phase I/II clinical trials aimed at evaluating new systemic and targeted agents in conjunction with radiation therapy. Czito's dedication to improving treatment outcomes is evident in his investigations targeting the optimization of treatment for gastrointestinal tumors, emphasizing site-specific approaches. He holds a medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, and his extensive training includes completing his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he served as chief resident. Czito is also board-certified by the American Board of Radiology.
