Biography

Brian DeBroff specializes in cataract and intraocular lens (IOL) implantation surgery. He has particular clinical research interests in Femtosecond Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery, Optiwave Refractive Analysis, and optimizing refractive outcomes in IOL surgery. Dr. DeBroff was appointed the Director of Cataract IOL Implant Surgery in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at the Yale School of Medicine in 1999. His teaching contributions have earned him the Yale Resident Teaching Award in both 1998 and 2008. He has authored over 100 publications, including a book on phacoemulsification cataract surgery, and serves as Editor-in-Chief of Advances in Ophthalmology & Visual Science. In addition to his academic and clinical achievements, he has been recognized by Castle Connolly, Connecticut Magazine, and New York Magazine for his excellence in the field. Dr. DeBroff is dedicated to providing compassionate care while utilizing the latest technologies to restore patients' vision, believing that treating a patient is akin to caring for family.
