Biography

Brian East has been an Adjunct Professor at Texas Law University, specializing in disability law. He earned his JD from the University of Texas at Austin in 1977. With 14 years of experience in private practice, he later joined Disability Rights Texas, a non-profit organization advocating for the rights of individuals with disabilities. East has handled numerous disability discrimination cases in both state and federal courts. He is a past Board member of the National Employment Lawyers Association and the Texas Employment Lawyers Association. In these roles, he has served as Chair of NELA’s Disability Rights Group and participated in various legal committees, including the American Diabetes Association. He has co-authored a chapter titled 'Workers with Disabilities' in the Employee & Union Member Guide to Labor Law. His accolades include being named a Texas 'Super Lawyer' and receiving awards from Texas Law Fellowships and the Austin Mayor’s Committee for People with Disabilities.
