Dr. Brian Faggin Batista

Biography

Brian Faggin Batista is a Graduate Student at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, specializing in Human Ecology with a focus on Design Studies. He holds a Master of Arts in Visual Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Universidade Federal de São Carlos in São Paulo, Brazil. With over 10 years of experience in freelance photography and videography, Brian has worked across various sectors, including collegiate athletics and governmental departments. He has produced and taught workshops on Unity 3D, Unreal Engine, as well as 3D printing, modeling, and animation at multiple colleges. His current research interests center on high-level multimedia content production, particularly in XR storytelling, striving to create learning experiences that are accessible to everyone. Brian is dedicated to making XR a medium that allows for storytelling and experiential learning that highlights diverse aspects of life.
