Biography

Brian Hudson is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Molecular Biosciences at the University of Glasgow. With a focus on Molecular Pharmacology and Cellular Signalling, his research investigates the physiological and pathophysiological roles of Free Fatty Acid Receptors in metabolic diseases. His work contributes to understanding the intracellular dynamics of receptor signaling pathways and their implications for new treatments in obesity and diabetes. Brian has been awarded several grants from organizations such as the Medical Research Council and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council, allowing him to supervise numerous innovative research projects, including the development of human 3D adipocyte spheroid models. His interests are primarily centered around the identification and analysis of novel insulin-sensitizing agents, along with the pharmacology of GPR120 receptors. He is actively engaged in advancing the field of metabolic research through both his teaching and research activities.
