Biography

Shang Brian Jiang, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and Professor in the Department of Dermatology at UC San Diego Health. He serves as the Director of Dermatologic Mohs Micrographic Surgery and is recognized for his expertise in Mohs surgery, a precise surgical technique used to remove basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma, as well as in reconstructive surgery and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Jiang educates medical students, residents, and fellows, and has developed the Micrographic Surgery Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship at UC San Diego School of Medicine. He frequently lectures at national and international conferences and has co-authored numerous articles in his field, serving as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Clinical Investigative Dermatology. Dr. Jiang previously held positions at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he directed the Dermatologic Surgery Unit and the Mohs Micrographic Surgery Fellowship Training Program. He completed his medical degree, residency, and fellowship at New York University School of Medicine and is highly regarded for his clinical leadership, having been chief resident during his final year of residency.
