Biography

Brian Langille is a Professor at the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto. He joined the Dalhousie Law School faculty in 1978 and moved to Toronto in 1983. Langille has served as Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and as Interim Dean. He directed the Law Faculty’s Legal Theory Workshop from 1986 to 1999, and he has been a visiting professor at several prestigious law schools around the world. His research and teaching interests focus on Contract Law, International Law and Policy, and Legal Theory. Over his career, he has consulted with various Canadian federal and provincial governments and international organizations on issues related to labor law and globalization. A member of multiple professional organizations, he has also served as a labour arbitrator and has published extensively in international labour law. Langille has held several prestigious fellowships and visiting positions, including at Columbia Law School and the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. He is an experienced educator, providing guidance on matters of social justice, international law, and labor laws.
