Dr. Brian Leung

Biography

Brian Leung is a celebrated author and Professor of Creative Writing at Purdue University. His notable works include novels such as 'Terrifying Brush', 'Take Home', and 'Lost Men', which have garnered critical acclaim. Leung's contributions to literature have been recognized with the Willa Award for Historical Fiction and the Mid-Career Novelist Award from the Lambda Literary Foundation. His writing spans various genres, including fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry, with his works appearing in prestigious anthologies and literary journals like Story, Crazyhorse, and Gulf Coast. As a faculty member at Purdue, he has served as the Director of Creative Writing and was involved in various significant roles at the University of Louisville, including Assistant Chair of the University Senate. With teaching expertise in fiction, creative nonfiction, and Asian American LGBTQ literatures, his scholarship focuses on writing, intellectual diversity, and cultural differences. He received his M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Indiana University and has had a distinguished career in both academia and literature.
