Biography

Brian Mitchell Peters is a part-time faculty member at Concordia University specializing in literature, drama, composition, professional writing, and creative writing. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with a minor in Art History from Concordia University and a Master's and PhD in English Studies with a focus on Comparative Literature from Université de Montréal. His interests include comparative studies of youth (sub)culture, music/performance culture, queer and gender theories, and cinema literature. Peters has published extensively on topics related to queer theory and popular culture, and he serves on the permanent editorial board of Queer Studies in Media and Popular Culture. Beyond academia, he has experience in acting, having participated in musical theater, and has begun to work on novels exploring themes of youth, love, and queer identity. He strives to bridge his academic research with creative writing, contributing to discussions on queer families and non-normative narratives in contemporary literature and culture.
