Biography

Brian Petroff, DVM, PhD is a Professor in the Pathobiology department, specializing in the Diagnostic Investigation at the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. He holds degrees from Ohio State University including a BS (1992), DVM (1998), and a PhD (1996). He completed a veterinary internship in 1998 and a postdoctoral program at the University of Kansas Medical Center from 1999 to 2000. His research interests are focused on breast and ovarian cancer prevention and survivorship, ovarian toxicology, and comparative thyroid reproductive endocrinology. He is dedicated to improving thyroid diagnostics in companion animals and understanding the pathogenesis of canine hypothyroidism. Brian has served as Section Chief of Endocrinology at MSU VDL and was a past Section Leader at the NCI Cancer Center at KUMC.
