Biography

Brian Richardson is an Adjunct Lecturer at the Kellogg School of Management, specializing in Leadership Development Communications. He is also the CEO of StartOut, a national nonprofit organization that supports LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs in building high-growth companies. StartOut connects thousands of founders with crucial resources such as capital, mentorship, and community while working to enhance LGBTQ+ representation in the innovation economy. Brian has previously held leadership roles at Lambda Legal, Google, and the Democratic National Committee. He has also served as Deputy Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Public Health and worked as a press secretary in the U.S. Senate. Brian earned degrees from the University of Chicago and UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business.
