Biography

Brian White is a professor of accounting at the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, part of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. His research focuses on the behavioral factors that affect the judgments and decisions of participants in the financial reporting process. White teaches financial accounting in the Executive MBA Americas program and leads a PhD seminar on behavioral research in accounting. His research has won multiple awards and has been published in leading journals, including the Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Review of Accounting Studies, and Contemporary Accounting Research. He holds degrees from Georgetown University, the University of Edinburgh, Manchester Business School, and the University of Illinois, where he completed his PhD. Before pursuing an academic career, Brian spent 10 years as the finance director for a privately held retailer based in Liverpool, England. Prior to joining the Johnson School, he was a faculty member at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
