Biography

Brian White-Guay is a physician by training and holds specialties in public health and family medicine. He entered the pharmaceutical industry in 1984 as a clinical research director with Ayerst in Montreal, followed by Merck Frosst in 1986. After a transfer to the research division of Merck Research Laboratories in the United States in 1988, he worked in international regulatory affairs and was appointed vice president of European regulatory affairs in Brussels in 1992, later overseeing relations with all international regulatory agencies in 2002. He was elected a foreign correspondent of the National Academy of Pharmacy of France in 2003. Returning to the United States in 2004, he was a member of the executive committee of MRL and vice president responsible for global clinical research operations and medical departments across 50 countries. He joined the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Montreal from 2008 to 2018 as a full professor and successfully launched a new undergraduate program in biopharmaceutical sciences. Since then, he has been consulting in drug development and is the chair of the investment committee of the life sciences venture capital fund AmorChem, which he joined in 2011. He is also a physician-educator at the University Family Medicine Clinic Notre-Dame since 2009.
